Bowen Storage used our in-house designers for the layout and design of the new warehouse to improve efficiency and throughput.
The design included supplying our Bowen Storage pallet racking and incorporating white melamine shelves suitable for medical products. Shelving for medical parts and supplies was also relocated from the existing site, increasing available floor space for pallet racking.
We relocated their existing shelving in stages to ensure continued operations whilst being relocated. This included the removal of the old bulk pallet racking, making it easy for Epworth to exit the old facility.
The installation of the project was managed by Bowen Storage and carried out in several stages.
The downtime was minimised by liaising closely with the client and installing the storage systems around their existing stock and daily order picking schedules. After hours relocation of shelving fully stocked to allow the despatch team to continue unhindered.
The layout of the storage system was carefully designed to maximise capacity, taking into consideration staff amenities, emergency egress, and final order fulfillment processes. The design included racking and shelving storage systems, workbenches, and safety handrails.
The project was delivered by a carefully coordinated consolidation plan to allow minimal disruption to business whilst the existing sites were consolidated
Bowen Storage worked in close partnership with Epworth Healthcare and their supply chain logistics consultant throughout all stages of the project to ensure key performance objectives were achieved. Since the initial installation and relocation, Bowen has now assisted Epworth with additional storage systems to support their growth.
