Drive-In Pallet Racking

This space saving storage solution is ideal for highly organised operations with larger volumes of pallets per SKU and storing large quantities of similar products. The Drive-in solution dramatically increases your storage space and usability by eliminating picking aisles, thereby maximising usable space. 

The advantage of a drive-in rack system is it provides for pallets to be stored one in front of the other, making it possible for forklifts or other industrial equipment to drive directly into the access aisles used to store your inventory. In addition, this racking storage system can be tailored to suit a range of widths, depths and necessary accessibility in a variety of warehousing environments.

The System increases the productivity of drive-in racks through the use of high visibility racking upright guards and ground rails. Importantly, the entry guides bolted to the ground rails, allowing quick replacement in case of damage.

There are two primary types of drive-in rack Installations. Each style of pallet racking solution has its advantages and can be designed to meet the needs of your business and your load and unload procedures.

• Single drive-in racking – has a common forklift entry and exit only at one end. This is referred to as Last In, First Out (LIFO) Racking. The last pallet stored in the bay is the first to be taken out.

• Drive-through racking– has entries at both ends. Using the two entry points is referred to as First In, First Out (FIFO) racking. This system provides for pallets that are loaded in to be pushed to the opposite end. The first pallet loaded in a row is the first to be unloaded at the other end. This is ideal for palletised products with expiry dates or limited shelf life.

Due to the enhanced space utilisation of drive-in pallet racking, this design can also make large scale refrigeration projects more viable solving the need for high-density storage.
