They strive for excellence, quality and timeliness throughout our business, employing the best people and working hand in hand with customers to meet their discerning needs.

Bowen Storage worked with Fienza to fit out their brand-new Melbourne facility. Following the successful fit-out of the Melbourne Warehouse, Fienza awarded Bowen Storage the fit-out of their new Sydney DC.

Brief

With the acquisition of a new 14,000 m2 warehouse facility in Sydney, NSW, they required a new design and fit-out that would accommodate their extensive range of products and provide the ability to expand within the site as their business grew.

Solution

Working with our design team, a layout was finalised with a combination of different racking types to manage their inventory efficiently, including:

  • Double-deep selective pallet racking for SKUs stored in quantities of two or more pallets.
  • Single deep, very narrow aisle picking racking where racks were fed from the back and picked using a man-up stock picker from the front.
  • Carton live storage for smaller parts and tapware.

The facility can now accommodate 5500 pallets plus a significant bulk storage area.

As part of their future planning, the design includes a future conveyor sortation system directly fed from the racking layout.

Results

With the acquisition of the new warehouse facility, Fienza was able to consolidate its Sydney operation under one roof with room for significant expansion.
